As part of our Healthy Living topic we invited 'Magical Mayhem' to teach us circus skills. This was a way we could all be active in a fun way. Even the children who don't always enjoy sport loved trying out circus skills. The day also showed us how to have fun without environmental and carbon footprints.
Keeping Fit
Over this summer term we have been/will be taking part in lots of sporting events. The Year 6 children have created a potted sports afternoon. Designing lots of exciting sports trials for our houses to compete in. We have had various sports events over the year and we are all looking forward to Sports day and Arts day.
Eating Well
At Flintham Primary school we are very proud that our school dinners are local. Nottinghamshire County Council actively try to reduce their carbon footprint and are proud to be going local with our school dinners, to cut down on our food miles. The have also received the soil association 'Food for life' Award.
Travelling to School
We have completed a travelling to school questionnaire. As our school is in a rural area lots of children arrive by car. The Eco-team are hoping to encourage children to park a little further away and to walk part of their journey to school.
